How to be happy in the age of social validation

  1. Take Responsibility

You are responsible for your own happiness. Societal pressure and outside validation can only do so much, and it’s important to remember that at the end of the day, your happiness is ultimately in your own hands.

2. Create Your Own Definition of Happiness

Don’t let others dictate what happiness means to you. Create your own definition and strive to achieve it.

For me, happiness is a sense of contentment, peace of mind, and feeling fulfilled.

3. Boundaries, Boundaries, Boundaries

Learn to set boundaries with the people in your life. This includes saying “no” when you need to, and not letting others take advantage of you.

4. Don’t Compare Yourself to Others

This is easier said than done, but it’s important to remember that everyone is on their own unique journey. Comparison is the thief of joy, so focus on your own life and what makes you happy.

  1. Find Joy in the Little Things

Remember to appreciate the small moments that make up your day. They may seem insignificant, but they can add up to a lot of happiness over time.

6. Focus on What You Can Control

There will always be things beyond your control, but that doesn’t mean you can’t focus on the things that you can control

  1. Practice Gratitude

Start each day by practicing gratitude for the good things in your life.

Write down the things you’re grateful for on a daily basis.
Whenever you feel low check back on your list and remember all the good things you have to be thankful for.

8. Take Good Care of Yourself

Self-care is important for both your physical and mental health. Make sure to schedule time for things that make you feel good, such as exercise, relaxation, and spending time with loved ones

  1. Do What You Love

Choose a career or hobby that you’re passionate about. Doing something you love will make you happier and more fulfilled than chasing after money or outside validation.

10. Be Kind to Others

Spreading happiness is a great way to increase your own happiness. Make it a point to be kind and considerate to others, and you’ll find that your own happiness will grow as well.

  1. Let Go of Negative Thoughts and Emotions

Negative thoughts and emotions can weigh you down and prevent you from enjoying your life.

  1. Live in the Present Moment

The past is gone and the future is not guaranteed. All you have is the present moment, so make the most of it.

13. Find Your Tribe

Spend time with people who make you happy and support your efforts to be happy. These people will help you stay positive and motivated on your journey to happiness

  1. Give Back

One of the best ways to feel good is to do something good for someone else. Giving back to your community or those in need will not only make you happier, but it will also make the world a better place.

  1. Happiness Is a Choice

Remember that happiness is a choice. No matter what life throws your way, you always have the power to choose how you react to it. Choose happiness, and watch your life transform for the better
